There will be no school Monday, October 6 through Friday, October 17.  We will return to school on Monday, October 20^th to begin our second quarter.  You will report to your first block class at 8:00. 

Teachers – all second grading period grades should be posted in the computer by 8:00 Thursday, October 23^rd.  Teachers please check your e-mail to see times that the school will be open during the next two weeks.

Junior and Senior students are reminded that fall break is an opportune time to schedule college visits.  Contact the college of your choice to schedule a visit.

Mr. Longtin reminds all students wanting to join VICA, dues should be paid by Friday, October 24^th.

FBLA dues should be paid by Friday, October 24th to Mrs. Couch, Mrs. Hogue, or Mr. Wall.

All students enrolled in grades 9-12 at Creek Wood are eligible for a $500 scholarship sponsored by Hope for New Beginnings a non-profit organization that was organized this year to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  To enter you must write a 250-500 word essay on “What does domestic violence mean to you.   Entries may be typed or handwritten.  October 22^nd is the deadline.  For more information please check in the counseling office.

The Voice of Democracy essay is due October 30^th.  The theme is “Service and Sacrifice of America’s Veterans Benefit Today’s Youth by…”  See an English teacher for more information.

Those who are scheduled to take the PSAT on the 15^th should be at school by 7:45.  The test will be given in the library.  The front doors will be open.

On October 10, the Red Hawks football team  will be at David Lipscomb for a 7:00 game; and on the 17^th they play at Cheatham County at 7:00.

The freshmen football team travels to Stewart County on the 6^th to play at 6:00 while the JV Football team travels to Rossview for a 6:00 game on the 13^th. 

The Lady Red Hawks volleyball team has the following games over the break:   at DCHS at 5:00 on the 7^th,   here against White House-Heritage on the 9^th at 5:00.  The Volleyball district will begin on Saturday, October 11 at Creek Wood.

The Lady Red Hawks soccer team has the following matches:  at Montgomery Central on the 7^th at 6:00, here on the 9^th vs. Sycamore at 6:00, also here on the 11^th against Overton at 2:00, at Northeast at 6:00 on the 14^th and at Springfield at 6:00 on the 16^th.

The Red Hawks cross country team will compete in the Brentwood Academy All-comers meet at Vaughn’s Gap at 4:00 on October 7^th.  They also will be competing in the MSCCA Championships at Smyrna at 3:30 on October 15^th.
