Concession Assignments for 2010

Hey everyone,

I've attached concession assignments.

A few announcements:

EXHIBITION..Thursday July 29
Exhibition...6:00...in the back parking lot where the kids practice.  Students should be at the band room by 5:15 and should wear blue jean shorts..they will receive their field show tshirts that night to wear for the exhibition.  Barbq dinner to follow.  Band students eat free.  Everyone else please bring a side dish or dessert to share, and $3 each for the barbq and drink.  Students will receive their free field show tshirt that night.  These shirts will be worn to all band competitions and football games.  Extra field show shirts and other band shirts will be on sale for $10 each.  It is usually a good idea to buy your student an extra field show shirt for those times when they have to wear it to the football game on Friday night, and then also to a competition the next morning.    Band and Color Guard car stickers will be available also.   If you have never had a sticker, your family gets one free one...if you already have your free one, extras can be purchased for $5.   Smart Cards and Kroger cards will be available also!

DCI SHOW    FRIDAY JULY 30
For those going to the Drum Corp show, we will be leaving Creek Wood at 5 pm on Friday. We are taking a bus and will be back at approximately 12:30 am. Students will need to bring money to eat.
I have the tickets already. If you are not riding the bus, I can give you your ticket Thursday night at the exhibition. Otherwise, I’ll hand out all the tickets at the show.

FOOTBALL SEASON CONCESSION STANDS
Concession stand assignment sheets are now ready.  One band parent for each student is expected to work football concession stands.  This pays for the part of the band cost that your fee does not cover.    There is a sign up sheet for the Jamborees that we will work on Friday Aug. 13 and Saturday Aug. 14.  You can sign up for which shift you prefer...since the band and guard will not perform at the jamborees, all students are also asked to sign up for a slot to work.

CAR WASH /BAKE SALE  CHARLOTTE   SATURDAY AUG 7
If your student would like to earn some money to help pay their band fees, they can come and work the car wash in Charlotte at Tri Star Bank from 10-2.   You may also bring baked goods to sell that day as well.

SMART CARDS
Here is another fundraiser that puts $7/card directly into your student's band account to help pay their fees.  Smart Cards....they sell for $12 and we have them for several counties.  See Becky Briggs to get Smart Cards to sell.  Becky usually is at the school at the end of band practice, and the students can get the cards from her.    These cards will be available at the Exhibition on July 29 and at the Band Booster meeting on Tuesday, August 3, 6:30 in the band room.

KROGER CARDS
The best way to put money in your student's band account.  These are Kroger gift cards.  You purchase them from us for $5 and we assign that cards number to your student's band account.  They already have $5 loaded on them, so it's not costing anything to buy.   Take them to Kroger.  Before you shop, go to the customer service desk and put money on the gift card by writing a check or giving cash to the customer service desk.  The card then has money loaded on it.  Do your shopping, then when you check out, you pay for it with the money you just put on the card.  In return, 4% of what you spend goes directly to your student's account.  Keep the gift card...and just keep loading money on it everytime you shop.  You can buy your gas at Kroger with the gift card also.  Many students pay for their entire fee just by using Kroger cards.  Give them to grandparents, friends, family....it really adds up.  Kroger cards will be available at the Exhibition on July 29 and at the Band Booster meeting on Tuesday, August 3, 6:30 in the band room.

BAND BOOSTER MEETING
The first Tuesday of each month, at 6:30 in the band room.  This is a great way to get information about what is going on with the band schedule, find out about fundraisers, ask questions, and keep in the loop on everything going on with band and guard.  Everyone is always welcome.  Our next Band Booster meeting is Tuesday, August 3, 6:30.
