Text Box:   Specially trained staff members at DMS are prepared to offer groups to students who would benefit from a more focused approach to coping with a variety of personal challenges.  Children who can cope with personal challenges usually perform better academically. Seven different small-group experiences are made available to those students who either wish to participate or who have been referred by principals, teachers, parents, or friends.  All groups meet during flex times two days a week for five weeks. Enrichment programs are also offered to those students who desire assistance from the particular offerings.  A peer mediation program is available to assist students in solving conflict.  A mentoring program is offered to those students identified as those who would benefit from a meaningful relationship with a mentor.
