	Dickson Middle School 401 East College Street Dickson, TN 37055 Phone: (615)446-2273 FAX: (615)441-4139     Our Mission   The mission of Dickson Middle School is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that prepares students academically by meeting state and local standards while enabling them to reach their full potential physically, socially, and emotionally in order that they may be prepared for high school and life beyond the classroom.   Our Beliefs We believe: A safe, orderly and positive school environment is essential for academic, emotional and social development. Education is necessary for student’s future success. High expectations yield high student performance. Students of all ability levels can learn. Curriculum is challenging and standards-based. Technology is important in instruction and assessment. A variety of formative and summative assessments are important in evaluating student learning. Data analysis is used to drive instruction. Students are responsible for their own learning with guidance and support of teachers, administrators, parents and community. Policies and decision-making are based on student’s best interest and be a collaborative effort among administrators, staff, parents, and students. Character education reinforces respect for self, others, school, community, country, and the world. Our Vision At Dickson Middle School students will be safe and will be given valuable opportunities to explore and excel in all academic areas.  High expectations for all students will result in high student performance, consequently eliminating achievement disparities among students.  We will continuously seek to strengthen the relationship between teacher and parent, a major factor in student success.  Dickson Middle School will strive to meet students’ social, physical, and emotional needs through related arts classes and programs that focus on the well-being of the child.  Dickson Middle School will attract and retain highly qualified teachers and provide them with professional opportunities.  All stake holders within the school and community will have ownership in the success of our school and its students.
