10TH KENWOOD CROSS COUNTRY CLASSIC

Your cross-country team is invited to participate in the 10th
Kenwood Knights Cross Country Classic!
Due to some uncontrollable circumstances with reserving the park through
the city, we had to move the meet from September 6, 2008 to August 23, 2008 at
Heritage Park in Clarksville, Tennessee.
We hope this change is not too much of an inconvenience to you and your
team and we would humbly appreciate your participation in our race this year. We will provide plenty of water and ice for you
athletes at this event. The course is a great course to kick off the new
season! It is mostly flat and fast with some gentle rolling hills. The high school races will compete over the
5K distance, while the middle school race will be approximately 2.5K (1.5
miles) in length. The meet will be
sanctioned for Kentucky and Tennessee, with other states to be invited upon
request. We ask that buses and spectators
please park behind Kenwood Elementary School, which is adjacent to the starting

Invitational details are listed as follows:
SCORING:
We will be having a single high school race for each sex, as
there is no separate JV division race.
However, high school teams may enter an unlimited number of
runners. The first five finishers from a
school will be scored as the school’s scoring team, with all other runners from
that school designated as non-scoring (“exhibition”) runners. Non-scoring runners are still eligible for
individual awards. Former Kenwood Coach
Charles Babcock will direct the meet. Hy-Tek Meet Manager software will be
utilized in the scoring of the high school races.
AWARDS:
High
School (Boys and Girls): Team trophies
presented to the top 2 boys and girls high school teams. 2008 Kenwood XC
Classic T-shirts will be awarded to the top 50 finishers across the line in
each high school race. The overall
winning individual will also receive an individual trophy.
Middle
School (Boys and Girls): Team trophies will
be presented to the top 2 boys and girls teams.
Individual medals will be presented to the top 40 boys and top 40 girls finishers as they finish. The overall winning individual of each race
will also receive a T-shirt.
ENTRY
FEES:
Varsity (Unlimited):
$50.00 for boys, $50.00 for girls ($100.00 for both)
Middle School: $30.00
for boys, $30.00 for girls ($60.00 for both)
***A
limited number of T-shirts will be available for sale at the meet for
$10.00. Concessions will also be sold.
