Re: State Meet Date

We believe when the first Saturday in November falls on the first few days of the month that we, in essence, lose a week of our season. We would urge the TSSAA to adopt the following measure to address this situation:

“The TSSAA State Cross Country meet will be held on the Saturday in November that falls nine days after the last Thursday in October.”

Adopting this measure would ensure that the meet always take place between November 3^rd and 9^th. If adopted the dates for the State Meet would be as follows thru the 2020 season.

Most Region meets would be conducted on the last Thursday in October with appropriate “weather dates” on the next two days.

This proposal would also help with heat related issues during the early season by potentially allowing our regular season to begin a bit later.
