Governor's Pre-K Program in Dickson County

Registration for the Pre-K program for White Bluff Elementary, Stuart-Burns Elementary, Vanleer Elementary and Dickson Elementary usually begins in April. You may register at the school. Students are assigned by tiers.

 KINDERGARTEN READINESS
Kindergarten can be very exciting for young students but it can also be a time of nervousness, anxiety and struggles. As a child begins their new journey in the education system, Dickson County Schools desires that all children have the best possible to start to their education. Kindergarten readiness is a great beginning to academic success.

The Kindergarten teachers of Dickson County are sensitive to the adjustments children will go through to adapt to the school environment. They take extra care to make their experience enjoyable and full of learning.  In cooperation with strong parental support, kindergarten students can enjoy a smoother, less stressful transition into the school system.

Pre-registration for kindergarten in Dickson County is usually held each April at the zoned school. Parents need to call their zoned school for specific dates. If you are unsure of which school your child will be attending, call (615) 740-5970 or click Zoning Information on the left.

Pupils entering kindergarten must be five years old by September 30 and parents must provide the following to enroll in school.
1. BIRTH CERTIFICATE
2. SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER
3. EVIDENCE OF IMMUNIZATION (GREEN CARD)
4. COMPLETE PHYSICAL EXAMINATION (BY SCHOOL ENTRANCE DATE)
5. SBES STUDENTS - Please bring proof of residency (current utility bill stub or similar)
