Physical

Physical Education: Planned sequential instruction that promotes lifelong physical activity. Designed to develop basic movement skills, sports skills, and physical fitness as well as to enhance mental, social, and emotional skills.

Possible Activities: Tetherball, walking contests, encouragement towards activities that are not always team oriented such as dancing, tumbling, walking or aerobics.

1) What are the requirements for Physical Education?
The State of Tennessee passed the 90-Minutes of Physical Activity Law (PC 1001) in 2006 requiring that all students grades K-12 shall have physical activity implemented into their daily schedules for a minimum of 90 minutes per week during the 2007-2008 school year.
