Attendance Student Information Discipline Food Service Grading and Teacher Portal Academic History Miscellaneous Scheduling School Information Star Student Home Trainings and Presentations DCBE Home	Star Student Beginning in 2005 Dickson County Schools began utilizing the Statewide Student Management System, a comprehensive, state provided, web-based, electronic student information system for school districts to facilitate local, state and federal reporting requirements as well as to handle daily local functions (i.e. attendance, scheduling, discipline, etc.). There are two components of the SSMS: Star_Student: The general education component that serves as the primary database (Century Consultants, Ltd.). EasyIEP: An IEP writer and Census reporting tool for Special Education (Public Consulting Group). Educational Information Systems (EIS) The Tennessee Department of Education has established a state-level longitudinal student enrollment data system, the Education Information System (EIS). Tennessee’s EIS contains student demographic and attendance data for all students in the State. EIS provides data analysis and archival data over multiple years and a unique student ID for all Tennessee students. The state also acquired a Statewide Student Management System (SSMS), to be fully integrated with EIS. Star Student
