SIS Express is replacing Star Student.

Beginning in the summer of 2012, Dickson County will begin using SIS Express, a new interface for working with student data. The Student Information System will replace the Student Management System, which we have used since 2005.

Remember this:

• Data in Express is not "live." All school work must be done in Star until the changeover.

Since 2005, the Dickson County School system has utilized the Statewide Student Management System, a comprehensive, state provided, web-based, electronic student information system for school districts to facilitate local, state and federal reporting requirements as well as to handle daily local functions (i.e. attendance, scheduling, discipline, etc.).

There are two components of the SSMS:

• Star_Student: The general education component that serves as the primary database (Century Consultants, Ltd.).
   

• EasyIEP: An IEP writer and Census reporting tool for Special Education (Public Consulting Group).
